Beverly Hay's five poems made for interesting musical settings, since her years as a voice teacher made her especially attuned to the musicalness of words. These songs certainly do form an interesting collection. Fool Around--the one included in the recording below--is quite interesting. It's very Gershwin-esque and, while I'm not sure it's my favorite of the five, I think it's fair to say it is the favorite of many who've heard the songs.
