Five folksong settings for flute, oboe, and voice. (There's also a version for flute, clarinet, and voice.) All five songs feature birds, and there is some clever use of musical devices such as canon, modes, etc. The recording below is of The Cuckoo, featuring voice and flute. It's the first one I wrote (after hearing the Corigliano's 3 Irish Folksongs) and it remains a favorite.
